Dear fellow Nena fans,
I just wanted to share with you some information about the recent Nena live concerts in Hamm last Tuesday and in Hamburg yesterday. First of all, the Hamm live concert was only half-filled with about 600 people, but the Hamburg live concert was completely sold out with about 2000 people attending. Second, Nena sang ten songs either authored or co-authored by Carlo Karges and these are their titles:
1. Vollmond 2. Tanz auf dem Vulkan 3. 99 Luftballons( 2X ) 4. Satellitenstadt 5. Rette mich( 2X? ) 6. Der Bus is' schon weg 7. Haus der drei Sonnen 8. Das alte Lied 9. Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann( 2X ) 10. Zusammen
Third, Nena also performed other songs and I have listed them below:
1. Nur getraeumt 2. Ganz oben 3. Leuchtturm( 2X ) 4. ?( Fragezeichen ) 5. Ich haeng' an dir 6. Der Anfang vom Ende 7. Du kennst die Liebe nicht 8. Wunder gescheh'n 9. Carpe diem 10. Lass die Leinen los 11. Silbermond 12. Dafuer ist das Leben zu kurz 13. Heute morgen hab ich die Sonne mit dem Mond verwechselt 14. Lichtarbeiter
In her Hamburg live concert, Nena also performed the song "Jetzt bist du weg". Finally, each of the two live concerts lasted for about two and a half hours! Is that not truly wonderful? I just wish that I could attend at least one of her live concerts this year, but that is impossible for me.
I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from any of you again, so long!
Your fellow Nena fan,
Glenn

Dear fellow Nena fans,
I forgot to include the song "Es ist in Ordnung" in the list of other songs Nena performed. Sorry about that.
I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from any of you again, so long!

Dear fellow Nena fans,
I discovered that there is still one more Nena song being performed which I have not listed yet. It is "Lass mich dein Pirat sein".
I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from any of you again, so long!
Your fellow Nena fan,
Glenn

Hey Glen, that must have been a great show! Too bad I couldn't be there! It is also great she performed songs coauthored by Carlo! That is very sweet! Lori

Dear Lori,
You know what is even better? If you have not heard about it, the remaining members of the original Nena band( i.e. Nena, Rolf, Uwe, and Juergen ) came together to perform "Leuchtturm" in Nena's 20-Year Jubilee Live Concert in Frankfurt-am-Main on 11 October 2002! Did either Rolf or Juergen inform you about this beforehand?
I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from you again, so long!
Your friend,
Glenn
P.S. By the way, Nena also performed "Zusammen" in honor of Carlo during this live concert. I found out recently that Frank "Schmecki" Becking passed away in an accident in 1996 at an airport crash in Germany, so the only way to reconstitute a reunited Nena band would be to have Guestl Luetjens be the lead guitarrist in place of the late Carlo Karges and the rest of the original band members( i.e. Nena Kerner as the lead vocals, Rolf Brendel as the drummer, Juergen Dehmel as the bass guitarrist, and Uwe Fahrenkrog-Petersen as the keyboarder ). Guestl Luetjens played the guitar very well during the Bongo Girl Tour in 1993 and Juergen and Rolf had performed during that period as well with Nena.

Dear Lori,
Sorry about this, but I made a mistake with regard to what caused the death of Frank "Schmecki" Becking. According to Nena, he got a job at the Duesseldor airport and was a victim of a 1996 "Brandkatastrophe"( burning catastrophe ), which might mean that the airport had a fire accident and Schmecki passed away because of it.
I guess that is all for now. Until I hear from you again, so long!
Your friend,
Glenn

Does anyone know if Nena would consider a concert tour, if there is not one planned already, in the United States?
